Pax Gmail Trigger is a personal automation tool operated by Michael Choe for his own Gmail account. It is not a public service, and it has no sign up, no other users, and no commercial offering.
When new mail arrives in the owner's mailbox, Google sends a small notification through Google Cloud Pub/Sub to the owner's assistant. The notification contains only a history identifier, not message content. The assistant then checks what arrived, using the Gmail API with read only access, and files or flags mail the owner has asked it to watch for, starting with mail from his lawyer.
The app requests a single Google permission: read only access to the owner's Gmail account (the gmail.readonly scope). It cannot send, delete, or change mail or account settings.
The owner can revoke this app's access at any time from the Google Account permissions page, or by deleting the Gmail watch or the Pub/Sub topic in the Google Cloud project. Any one of those steps stops the trigger completely.
